License Guard FAQ
FAQ

Short answers before you install or review the product.

This page answers the most common launch, trust, and operational questions buyers ask about License Guard.

Is my data safe?

Yes. License Guard is built on Atlassian Forge. Operational data stays inside Atlassian-managed infrastructure for normal product use.

Does the app automatically delete users?

No. For safety, License Guard removes granting group memberships during approved cleanup. It does not delete or deactivate the Atlassian user account itself.

Can I exempt service accounts?

Yes. Use protected exceptions to hold out service accounts, executives, contractors, or people on leave, with reasons and optional expiry.

How do I prove the result to finance or audit?

Every cycle preserves approval, action, and proof records together. The Proof page and CSV or JSON exports keep the exact decision and execution context tied to that cycle.

How much does it cost?

License Guard launches as one paid Atlassian Marketplace package with a 30-day full trial. Pricing starts at $149/year on the smallest Atlassian Cloud band and scales by site size.

Does it work with Atlassian Guard or SCIM?

Yes, but for a different job. Atlassian Guard handles provisioning and identity policy. License Guard handles the governance problem that remains afterward: users who still have real billable access that now needs safe review and cleanup.

What happens if I uninstall?

You lose the retained app-side review history, protected exceptions, and previous proof records that were stored for the product workflow.
